Britney Spears has transformed herself, making a big and positive difference. In February, Britney wouldn't even talk to her father, Jamie Spears, as he took control of her downward-spiraling life. And now, after returning to a somewhat normal life, the pop star and her dad spent the weekend together in Las Vegas for Father's Day, where they all had a fantastic time.
According to a source inside Vegas' Mirage Hotel & Casino, where Britney and her dad were staying up for their holiday, they spent the afternoon in Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage. "She swam side by side with the dolphins at the resort in a private pool," says an insider. "Later she gushed over Siegfried & Roy's six-week old tiger cubs in their special nursery at the Secret Garden taking pictures of the cubs with a female friend." She was so enamored, she even stopped by the habitat's gift shop to pick up a couple of soft toy animals.
Although Britney didn't attend LOVE, the Cirque de Soleil show based on the Beatles' hit, All you need is love, at the Mirage tonight in Vegas, she did still have an eventful day. According to the LVRJ.com, Britney "was spotted walking out of The Mirage villas and into the tops-optional Bare pool lounge on Saturday. She was all smiles as she was escorted into the pool area. She was wearing a very short blue sun dress. Earlier during her day at the Mirage, she was spotted in a wet suit on her way to swim with the dolphins."
After her swim with the dolphins, Britney had a visit with her stylist Kim Vo and his team of assistants, where it is believed she had further adjustments to her hair extensions. Later in the day Britney was spotted at the tops-optional Bare pool lounge, where onlookers described her as seeming carefree and happy. "She was all smiles," one witness tells OK! "Glowing and looking totally fresh and healthy."
Britney Spears continues her road to recovery; a friend of Spears says things are going well for the her. "She's doing great," Palms Casino Resort owner George Maloof tells PEOPLE. Maloof, who recently had dinner with Spears twice in L.A., says that the two are "good friends," and adds it would be fantastic to have her perform at his Vegas venue. "I'd love to have her here at the Pearl [Theater]," says Maloof, who stopped by the premiere of The Rocker, starring Rainn Wilson, at the Cinevegas Film Festival. "It would be great." Maloof says the idea of a Vegas concert "didn't come up" when he saw Britney in L.A. But apparently Spears flew there Thursday for a different reason altogether."Britney left L.A. for Vegas for an extra long Father's Day weekend with her dad," a source tells PEOPLE. Despite reports that Spears' cameo in the upcoming Pussycat Dolls video was cut, Britney is still plugging away at her other projects: She's scheduled to work on songs with Sean Garrett in three weeks. Meanwhile Spears's ex, Kevin Federline, is also headed to Sin City on Friday for Father's Day purposes: K-Fed will be there to accept his "Father of the Year" honors from Prive Las Vegas.
Britney reportedly attended the CineVegas Film Festival yesterday evening in Las Vegas. Britney has had several meetings with George Maloof recently, dinners and vacations with actor and director Mel Gibson, as well as appearing on two episode of CBS' "How I Met Your Mother."
"Everyone was there, including the film critics and reporters, the filmmakers, and the CineVegas pass-holders," from Cinematical.com. "Of course, she wasn't mingling with the hoi polloi. The pool area has several private-ish covered booths where VIPs chill, and Britney mostly stayed in one of them. It honestly looked like a zoo exhibit, with everyone standing around gawking at Britney Spears in a re-creation of her natural habitat... She was kept company by two guy friends, a girl friend, and plenty of Grey Goose, and she never really looked at the crowd."
The reporter also says everyone began taking out their cell phones to SMS their friends about who has just arrived. Britney's security was none-too-pleased about this thinking they make snap a pic of the pop princess, and demanded that phones be put away. "I happened to be standing near her zoo exhibit when I texted someone, and one of the burly, black-clad bodyguards who stood between her and the crowd said, "You better put that away." His tone indicated that he knew I was only sending a text, but that I better not get any ideas about taking pictures. Goodness knows the last thing a reclusive, timid creature like Britney Spears wants is for someone to have a photographic depiction of her likeness, to join the millions of other pictures that already exist. I hadn't considered taking a picture anyway, but of course now that I knew someone didn't want me to, I wanted nothing more. But I didn't want to have my phone confiscated by an ogre, so I refrained. Soon enough, everyone forgot she was there and went back to their partying, like it was just a typical night at CineVegas. Which it kind of was."
After donning a short black cocktail dress, the singer attended the Cinevegas party with her father, Palms hotel owner George Maloof and his business associate Jon Gray. In a private cabana, Spears showed little emotion as she sipped water and chatted with her group for two hours." Britney will be there throughout the duration of the weekend."Spears, celebrating Father's Day weekend with her dad Jamie, ate fresh fruit and sunned herself for three hours Friday at the newly opened Palms Place pool. Later, she began her night with a low-key dinner with a friend and a member of her security staff at the Palms restaurant Nove, where she feasted on an artichoke dish.
An unscheduled hearing in the Britney Spears custody case Friday yielded no change in the arrangement between the pop star and ex-husband Kevin Federline. The hearing was closed and all documents were ordered sealed until a hearing later this month. A court spokeswoman says no rulings were made. Spears' attorney declined to comment after they concluded Friday. Mark Kaplan, an attorney representing Spears' husband, Kevin Federline, attended the hearing via speakerphone. Both Britney Spears and Kevin Federline failed to appear.
Last month, a court commissioner granted Spears expanded visitation with her children. Federline took control of the toddlers after several highly publicized instances of erratic behavior by the 26-year-old singer.| Comments |
