X (Kylie Minogue 2007 album)

PDF
kyliex.jpgX is the tenth studio album by Australian dance-pop singer Kylie Minogue. It will be Minogue's first commercial album release since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005.

On September 21, 2007 Minogues's official website announced: "The wait is finally over! On November 26 Minogue releases X, her first studio album in four years." The album, her tenth, features thirteen new tracks and was recorded in London, Stockholm and Ibiza. Producers include previous collaborators such as Bloodshy & Avant, Guy Chambers, Cathy Dennis, and Richard Stannard, as well as newcomers like Calvin Harris. X was preceded by the new single "2 Hearts" on November 12 (available digitally November 5). The promotion for the single started on October 10 with simultaneous play of the video on GMTV as well as the track being played on radio.

Promotion

To promote the release of the album, Kylie performed on an exclusive show on ITV1 called The Kylie Show, featuring six songs from the new album, and four of her older hits. It was aired on 10 November, 2007. Kylie also joined Jo Whiley on Radio 1 for a special show promoting the new album called "Kylie and Whiley" during which they recreated a scene from Neighbours.

The following songs are those that were written and recorded during the sessions for X but did not make the final cut, did not get past the demo stage, or were recorded for compilations.

B-sides and compilation tracks

  • "Love Is The Drug": cover of 1975 Roxy Music hit for Radio 1. Established 1967, the Radio One 40th anniversary album.
